How to use chrss as a "chess by email" site.

Using RSS to receive your moves is great, but you might prefer to get your moves sent to your email address. By default this is turned off, but it's not hard to enable it:

Then when anyone moves in your games (or leaves a comment) and you don't reply immediately, you'll get sent an email. The email that arrives will summarise moves (and comments) that have occurred over a period of time (roughly an hour), so it may contain several moves. However if you move in all your games before the email is due to get sent then the email won't get sent. Which makes sense as you've obviously already seen that your opponents have moved and don't need to be told about it!

If you are a Mac-user you might want to check out the dashboard widget for chrss too.

Hey, great feature!! I was wondering if there was a way I could change my email address, I still have the old one, but I now use my gmail account primarily.

I was thinking about letting users change email address. Just being careful to avoid you typing in the wrong one and then not being able to get your password reset later...

Guess as long as I send out a test email first it should be ok.

I'll look into it.
