I've got around to improving the look of the dashboard widget for OS X. Previously it was a bit flat:
After a bit of work in photoshop it now looks a bit more at home on OS X and generally a bit more "3D":
As well as this purely cosmetic work, I have also changed the widget's behaviour when you enter the name of an unknown user. The old widget would simply show an error icon. The new widget will show a message saying the user is unknown and provide a link to the signup page. So for those who haven't yet created an account for chrss the widget should be a lot more helpful in getting you going.
Oh and there was also a small bug fix - the link to chrss.co.uk on the back of the widget should now work.
You can download the new widget (version 1.1) here.

Looks good, certainly more OSX-ish. I just wish Dashboard would keep current on things like this before I check it, sometimes its a long time to load.
Hey, I really like this site, but I think the rss feed for your blog is broken.
While I'm here, I'd like to put in a request for a chrss facebook application!
Hmm. RSS feed seems ok. What sort of issue are you seeing?
Not sure about Facebook app - really not been using it myself much lately. Though it would be kind of neat. Scrabulous was the main reason for me to use FB before they closed it down. Maybe I should start off with a widget style app before doing a full-blown version.
Time is a very limiting factor for me though...
I personally never used Scrabulous, but I know it was very popular. I think that an app from this site would be popular for many of the same reasons. But yeah, only when and if you have the time -- and thank you for all the time that you have invested already in this site. As for the rss feed, I don't see any content here: http://chrss.co.uk/blog/rss
Oh it might be as the last entry was posted a while ago. Looking at the feed directly does show it's empty. It's set to only show items from the last month. Should probably tweak it to always show at least the latest item I guess...
